C King 

Carol King (President) is a life-long resident of Walnut Township and has served on the board for more than 16 years. She spent all 12 years at WTLSD, graduating from Millersport High School. She then obtained a  Ohio University­Lancaster, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Education and returned to teach for 30 years at Millersport Elementary as second grade teacher.

Carol has been active in the athletic boosters for many years, serving as secretary for several years, and helped run the Sweet Corn Festival booth and concession stands. She became the senior class advisor and took 19 classes on their senior class trips to Walt Disney World and a Disney Cruise.

Carol was named to the Walnut Township Local School District Alumni Hall of Fame in 2016.

She ran for the Board of Education because she wanted to give back to the school and community that had given so much to her. She is excited to see our students excel academically as well as in extra-curricular activities. She is even more excited to see the accomplishments of our graduates as they move forward into their chosen careers.


 M Severance  

Mitchell Severance (Vice President) has been a resident of Millersport for 30 years and graduated from Millersport High School in 2004. He married my high school sweetheart Caylee, and has two beautiful daughters Payslee and Vivee. Payslee just started Kindergarten this year. We enjoy boating on Buckeye Lake, traveling, and spending time with family. 

He currently works for Union Home Mortgage as a Loan officer, and loves helping people achieve the dream of home ownership. He is also a sales coach and has the privilege to coach other loan officers within our company on leadership, sales, and managing a team. The leadership skills he has learned in his current job will be extremely beneficial as he starts his role on our school board. He is excited to serve the community that he loves and cares for and looks forward to this opportunity

     
 Dave Everett

Dave Everitt is a life-long Laker who graduated from Millersport High School in 1980. He is a graduate of The Community College of Air Force and is a retired military veteran of 35 years, combined USAF and U.S. Army. He has coached every level of athletics for over 35 years, including varsity baseball, varsity girls' basketball, junior high girls' basketball and softball. Inspired by his late son Matthew, he joined the school board to be the persistent, tough and unwavering voice for students and staff to improve the educational, athletic and safety programs. His ultimate goal is to ensure our students and staff have everything they need to provide the best, safest and highest rated school system to prepare students for their futures.

Dave is married to Kathy, who is a 1981 graduate of Millersport and manager of PNC credit services for 38 years. Their late son, Matthew, graduated from Millersport in 2002; their son, Chad, graduated in 2008; their granddaughter, Olivia, graduated in 2023; and grandson, Owen, and granddaughters, Piper, Baya and Makenna also are attending Millersport schools.


 J Levacy    Jennifer (Jenny) Levacy is beginning her first term on the Walnut Township Board of Education in 2022.  Levacy graduated from Heritage High School (Virginia) in 1991. Levacy received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1995 from Bridgewater College where she played three Varsity sports during her college career.  In 2008, Levacy was awarded her Master of Social Science degree from Ohio University.

Levacy moved to Millersport in 2004 and began working for the Eastland-Fairfield Career and Technical School District where she is a Social Studies instructor.  She has coached numerous school sports during her career including volleyball, softball, and baseball.  Levacy began her teaching career in 1997 at Rustburg High School in Virginia.

Jenny is married to Tim Levacy and their son, Michael, is currently a Junior at Millersport High School.  She is involved in many community activities and has long been a supporter of youth athletics.  Levacy attends Spring Hill Baptist Church, and she enjoys reading, walking, and trivia games.

     

D Popo

Debbi Popo has lived in the Walnut Township School District for the past 41 years. As a retired educator of 31 years and then a WTLSD substitute for eight years, she wants to see WTLSD continue to provide an excellent quality education for our students in our unique, small community. She served six years with the Ohio Department of Education as the curriculum consultant for business and marketing programs, and curriculum remains a key focus of hers in this role. In this role, she will be committed to listening to the needs of our school district and then making excellent policy decisions when needed. 

Debbi serves as a trustee on the Buckeye Lake Region Chamber of Commerce, as the Lieb's Island Civic Association Treasurer, as an elementary reading tutor, and supports many district activities, including yearbook ads, after-prom donations, working in Sweet Corn Festival booths, etc. Debbi has been married 43 years to Vince Popo, a recently retired school board member who dedicated 16 years to the district. Their son, Michael, graduated from Millersport High School.
