Mrs. Swinehart graduated from Ohio University in June, 1980 with a Bachelor of Science
(B.S. Ed.) in History and Government. After
college Mrs. Swinehart worked as a stay-at-home mother for
14 years and helped her parents run their florist shop,
before returning to education. She
completed her Master’s of Education (M. Ed.) in Curriculum
and Instruction with a concentration in gifted education in
2003. She resumed her career at Thomas
Ewing Jr. High (Lancaster City Schools) and has now taught
at Millersport Jr./Sr. High School for the past 8 years.
Mrs. Swinehart and her husband live in Lancaster. They have two sons, Benjamin, who has a degree in Cinematography and lives and works in Los Angeles and Lucas, who is a sophomore at Capital University majoring in Public Relations. Outside of school, Mrs. Swinehart likes to spend time with her family, travel, read and garden.
