   Mr. Harris graduated from The Ohio State University in 1993 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biological Sciences with a Zoology emphasis.  Following graduation, he worked for Owens-Corning at their Science & Technology Center in Granville, Ohio where he worked in materials science research.  During his tenure at Owens-Corning, Mr. Harris was part of some very interesting research and is listed as a co-inventor on three U.S. Patents as a result of that work.

While working at OCF, Mr. Harris returned to school part-time at Ohio Dominican College to complete coursework for a teaching certificate in Secondary Biology.  Following student teaching at New Albany High School in the fall 1995, Mr. Harris completed his certification and began his teaching career at C-J.

    While teaching at Millersport High School, Mr. Harris has been involved in a number of our district's school improvement efforts as a member of the district's Continuous Improvement Planning Committee and serving on a number of curriculum committees.  During his time at MHS, we have expanded the offerings in Biological Sciences to include Human Anatomy & Physiology and Advanced Placement Biology in addition to the traditional, required Biology I course.

    In 2004, Mr. Harris completed his Masters Degree in Educational Administration as a part of the Ohio University Rural Principals Preparation Program.

   In addition to his teaching duties, Mr. Harris is the Co-Advisor for the MHS Quiz Team and also works with the Drum line during Marching Season and the Show Choir. Mr. Harris has instructed high school drum lines for over 15 years at a number of schools.

   In his spare time, he enjoys sailing and sailboat racing.  Mr. Harris is a US Sailing certified Regional Race officer and a member of the US Sailing Race Officer Training & Certification Committee.  He also serves as the chair for the Youth Sailing committee of the Inter-Lake Yachting Association which serves youth throughout the Lake Erie Region.

   Mr. Harris has also been very active over the years with the Boy Scouts of America working on staff at Camp Falling Rock throughout high school and college and serving as the Camp Director from 1995-97 and again in 2007.

   Mr. Harris also enjoys Native American Powwow culture, attending several powwows annually.  He sings with two different Southern Plains Drums and recently completed a new Southern Men's Straight Dance outfit.  He also enjoys native American craftwork and website design.
