Mrs. Bolen grew up along
the ocean in a small town in Massachusetts. She
graduated from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst with
a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science.
While there she also played on the field hockey team (three
years on varsity) and on the club lacrosse team.
When she moved to Ohio, she ended up getting a degree
in Elementary Education from The Ohio State University and
playing club lacrosse. Later she earned a
Master of Education degree in Supervision from
Ashland
University. Mrs. Bolen lives in
Columbus with her husband John, her daughter Wendy (who is a
sophomore in college), and five cats. In
her spare time, she enjoys reading, travelling, watching
sports, and learning new things. She
especially enjoys watching the Lakers compete in sports,
perform in musical events, and participate in other
activities.
Mrs. Bolen became the librarian at Millersport Jr./Sr. High
School in August 2003, after completing the school librarian
licensure program at Ohio Dominican University.
Previous to this, she had spent seventeen years
working both as an elementary school teacher and as a
substitute teacher, mostly with the Columbus City Schools.
