Mr. Stout

I grew up in Winchester, Ohio and graduated from North Adams High School.  I went to college right after graduation and attended Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio.  During college, I was active in various activities including University Choir, Chamber Singers, and University Band.  I also worked a couple jobs throughout school in the music department as the choral librarian and at a cafe on campus called The Eagle's Nest.

I've taught in a few districts, teaching general music and choir to various grades. And have lived in a lot of different places in North East Ohio including Ashland, Millersburg, Dundee, and Mansfield.  At previous schools I've assisted and organized events with musical theater, grade level music programs, Tri-M, and performances in the local communities.

My personal hobbies include cooking and trying new foods, road trips, visiting college friends all over the Midwest, binge watching shows and movies, and being out in nature.  Since 2012 I've worked at Wanake Camp and Retreat Center, a summer camp through the East Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church.  I've been a summer camp counselor, support staff member, and more recently, a counselor supervisor.  I'm a canoe instructor, challenge course/team building coordinator, and I'm also belay trained to do rock wall climbing.  Travel and road trips are a big part of my life.  I've been to Italy, Canada, Mexico, Chicago, LA, Nashville, DC, and other cities in the US.  A travel goal I have is to visit every county in our state.

This will be my 6th year teaching and I am excited to start my second year as a Millersport Laker!  I hope my students enjoyed their summer and are ready to learn more about music.
